coobi

Build on evidence,
tested in the clinic

coobi supports people throughout their entire treatment journey. From detoxification, through rehabilitation, and into the difficult months that follow. Here you will find the evidence and ongoing studies we use to demonstrate the effectiveness of coobi.

What therapists say

Built with the field, for the field.

Prof. Andreas Koch

The coobi solution can counteract the growing shortage of skilled workers in addiction treatment while simultaneously enabling individualised therapy and aftercare.

The research behind coobi

coobi applies models clinicians already trust, relapse prevention, motivational interviewing, digital biomarkers, and turns them into an integrated platform that provides the right support at the right time.

JITAIs

JITAIs

Just-in-time Adaptive Interventions

Just-in-Time Adaptive Interventions (JITAIs) deliver targeted support at critical moments and promote coping strategies, the cornerstone of effective digital intervention. At coobi we combine passive sensing and machine learning with JITAIs to detect risk situations early and support patients exactly when it counts.

What coobi captures

coobi captures continuous signals from a wearable and pairs them with brief check-ins, instead of relying on questionnaires alone. We focus on the areas research ties most closely to craving, relapse risk, and recovery.

Sleep

How long, how regularly, and how well someone sleeps. Sleep problems are among the earliest warning signs in recovery and are closely tied to craving and relapse risk.

Stress and autonomic dysregulation

Physical and subjective signs of acute and building stress. Stress is strongly linked to craving and consumption events.

Activity

Movement and daily routine. Physical activity is linked to lower craving and better treatment outcomes.

Mood & craving

Brief check-ins on mood, emotions, and craving. Negative mood and craving are the most immediate predictors of use, and often the moments when support is needed.

Abstinence & personal context

Abstinence or consumption events, plus the triggers and resources that shape each person's risk.

App usage

How actively someone uses coobi. A sudden drop can signal declining adherence.
